"You owe yourself the love you so freely give to others."
It's been almost three months since my last post. "Girl! what happened to your blog?" " I haven't seen you post in a while." Now, I could give a generic response and say something like " Oh, the blog? I've just been busy." But I promised myself that if I ever created a platform to reach others, I would be transparent enough for them to relate. I lost my momentum. You know those times where you're at your highest and eventually you run out of that energy that you had in the beginning like a car running out of gas. Now it's time to get back to what I started.
Within the last few posts, I shed some light on different mental health struggles that many people experience. Now that we've seen what some look like. How do we move forward? How do we heal? First, make the decision that you want to move forward and that you truly do want better. I know people always say that some things are "easier said than done", but the tongue holds the power of life and death. One major thing to carry with you through this life is that the things you say are like a declaration that you'll begin to believe and stand by. Choose to speak life and positive things that are in realtion to what you are stuggling with.
Next, is to be more undertstanding of yourself. You can always sympathize with yourself, but when it comes time to give yourself that kind of love, it's nowhere to be found. Stop holding yourself to a standard that is unattainable. Be Kind and handle yourself with grace. You don't have to fight or compete to be in a place that God has already created for you. You simply need to love yourself enough to know that you are worthy enough to be in that place. Get your blessing! It has your name on it! Sometimes we don't realize that God has already tailored a great thing for Y O U. He's waiting on you.
Lastly, you need change, in order for a change to take place in your life. What kind of change? That is totally up to you. Some of us need a change in community. You've been surrounding yourself around people that feed into your struggles. If you're dealing with depression, crazy parties and getting drunk every weekend is not going to help you with your struggles. It's helping you mask it.Change that. Look for a change in scenery that helps you tackle those struggles. Your circle of friends may shift, the things you used to find peace in, may change. You may need to change your daily habits. Wake up with prayer rather than Tik-Tok (working on that.lol). There's something about praying in the morning that makes me feel like I'm setting my feet on solid ground for the day. Never think that you can't overcome your struggles just because things seem dark. Make your declaration and progress from there. You deserve the love that you pour into others.
