"I needed Your grace more than I thought I ever would.."
How often have you noticed something about someone that made you see them in a different light? Maybe more than you can count? How often were you ready to speak words of judgement on someone who may have done something you think you would never do? Oh plenty of times? So let's talk about it.
With each generation, it seems like the toxic judgment culture expands. We live in an environment where people are quick to magnify someone's public actions while they are doing the same behind closed doors. Why do we think it's okay to point fingers at someone and put them in a place of isolation and condemnation? Where is the love? Where is the Grace? It's so important to understand that you are no better than someone who took a wrong turn in life. If anything, it could have been you in that same position. When it comes to living out your faith, grace is something that we pass down to others as it was passed down to us. Can you really say you love God if you don't show love like he would?
Do you remember that phrase "What Would Jesus Do"? At one point I used to hear this phrase all the time. Now, as I try to be a reflection of the things I beleieve, this phrase resonates with me. If we actually thought about this phrase before jumping to condem others, our actions would be so much more different. We would show love rather than "cancel" others. We would show grace rather than judge. As you go through life, understand that the grace you need from God is the same grace you need to extend to others through every circumstance of life.
